Paths Cross LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates arkept (the “App”). This policy explains what we collect, why, and what control you have.

1. What We Collect

Account information. When you create an account we collect your email address, first and last name, and date of birth. If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive the name and email associated with that account. Passwords are stored only as a cryptographic hash and are never visible to us.

Prayer content. Prayers you enter – the name of the person or situation, your request, notes, category, reminder settings, the date something was answered, and any note you write about how it was answered – are stored in our database so they are available whenever you sign in.

Study content. If you use the study features, your passage selections, exegesis, word studies, hermeneutics work, research, and sermon material are stored in the same way.

On your device. Your scripture translation preference, reminder settings, and a notification token are stored locally. Your sign-in session is stored in your device’s secure keychain.

We do not collect location, photos, contacts, browsing history, financial information, or biometric data. We use no analytics or crash-reporting service.

2. Information About Other People

Prayer content often concerns people other than you – an illness, a marriage, a struggle someone told you about in confidence. This is the most sensitive information in arkept, and it belongs to people who have not agreed to be recorded.

How we handle it:

• Access is restricted at the database level. Security rules enforce that records are readable only by the account that created them. No other user can access your prayers.
• We do not read, analyze, mine, or profile your content, and we do not use it to train any model or system.
• We do not use it for advertising, and we do not share it with third parties for their own purposes.
• We will not disclose it except where required by valid legal process.
• Nothing is shared with anyone unless you explicitly choose to share it.

Your responsibility. You decide what to record about another person. Please use the same discretion you would in speaking about them. You can delete any entry at any time.

3. Sensitive Categories

What you write may reveal religious or philosophical belief, and may include health information about you or others. In many jurisdictions, including under the GDPR, these are special categories of data requiring heightened protection.

We process this content solely to provide the App to you, on the basis of your explicit consent, given when you create an account. We process it for no other purpose. You may withdraw consent at any time by deleting your content or your account.

4. How We Use Your Information

To create and maintain your account, store and display your prayers and study work, deliver the reminders you schedule, provide the daily verse, respond to support requests, and notify you of important changes.

5. Third-Party Services

Supabase, Inc. – Database hosting and authentication. Stores your account information, prayers, and study content. Servers are located in the United States. See supabase.com/privacy.

Expo (Expo Technology, Inc.) – App infrastructure and notification tokens. See expo.dev/privacy.

Google and Apple – Only if you choose to sign in with them, and only to complete sign-in.

Resend (Resend, Inc.) – Transactional email delivery. When you submit a support request, your email address is shared with Resend solely to route our reply back to you. See resend.com/privacy.

bible.helloao.org – Scripture text. Receives only the book and chapter you are reading. No account information or personal data is sent, and no request is linked to you.

6. Reminders

Prayer reminders are scheduled on your device and delivered by your operating system. By default, reminders do not include the name of the person you are praying for, so nothing sensitive appears on your lock screen. You can turn names on in the profile screen if you prefer.

7. Security

Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Access rules at the database level restrict every record to the account that created it. Your sign-in session is held in your device’s secure keychain.

No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affecting your personal information occurs, we will notify you and any required authority within the timeframes the law requires.

8. Retention and Deletion

We keep your information while your account is active.

You can delete your account at any time from the profile screen in the App. This permanently deletes your account, your prayers, and your study content from our systems. It cannot be undone and we cannot recover it. Encrypted backups may retain data for a short period before being overwritten.

9. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, export, or restrict processing of your information, to withdraw consent, and to complain to a supervisory authority. California residents have rights under the CCPA/CPRA. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under California law.

10. Children

arkept is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child under 13 has an account, contact us and we will delete it.

11. Changes

We will post changes here and update the date. For material changes affecting how your content is stored or used, we will notify you in the App before they take effect.
