These Terms govern your use of arkept, operated by Paths Cross LLC. By creating an account or using the App you agree to them.

1. Use of the App

arkept is a prayer journal and Bible study tool. You may use it for personal devotional practice and for ministry or professional purposes, including teaching and sermon preparation. You may not use it unlawfully, or resell it or provide it as a service to others.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 and able to form a binding contract where you live.

3. Your Account

Provide accurate information, keep your credentials secure, tell us promptly of unauthorized access, and take responsibility for activity under your account.

4. Your Content

You own everything you create in arkept – prayers, notes, study work, and sermon material. We claim no ownership.

You grant us only the limited permission needed to operate the App: to store your content, display it back to you, and keep it available across your devices. We do not read it, publish it, license it, sell it, or use it to train any model.

Your sermon and study work is your professional intellectual property, and we treat it as confidential.

5. Information About Other People

You may record information about other people, including sensitive circumstances. You agree to record only what you have a legitimate reason to record, not to use arkept to harass, expose, defame, or surveil anyone, and to honor requests from people asking to be removed.

If you use arkept in a pastoral, counseling, medical, or other professional capacity, you are responsible for any confidentiality, licensure, or recordkeeping obligations that apply to you. arkept is a general-purpose tool and is not certified for HIPAA, FERPA, or any comparable regime.

6. Acceptable Use

Do not harass or harm anyone, attempt unauthorized access, reverse-engineer the App, distribute malware, or impersonate anyone.

7. Scripture

Scripture is from the Berean Standard Bible (BSB), dedicated to the public domain.

8. Not Pastoral Care, Counseling, or Emergency Support

arkept is a journaling and study tool. It is not counseling, therapy, medical care, spiritual direction, or crisis support. No one monitors what you write.

9. Availability

We aim for reliability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service, and features may change. arkept requires an internet connection to load and save your content.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE APP IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not endorse, verify, or take any position on the theological content users create.

11. Limitation of Liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, PATHS CROSS LLC IS NOT LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF DATA OR PROFITS. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF WHAT YOU PAID US IN THE PRECEDING TWELVE MONTHS OR FIFTY DOLLARS ($50).

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify Paths Cross LLC against claims arising from your content, your use of the App, or your violation of these Terms – including claims by people about whom you have recorded information.

13. Termination

You may delete your account at any time from the profile screen. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, with notice where practical.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, without regard to conflict of law principles.

15. Apple and Google

These Terms are between you and Paths Cross LLC, not Apple Inc. or Google LLC. Apple and Google are third-party beneficiaries entitled to enforce them, and are not responsible for the App or for support.

16. Changes

We may update these Terms and will notify you of material changes. Continued use constitutes acceptance.
